Introducing Broadcasts: A New Way to Reach Your Players

Today, we’re excited to launch Broadcasts, a new LootLocker feature that helps you connect with your players more directly than ever.
With Broadcasts, you can schedule and deliver localized messages to players across one or more of your games. Each broadcast can include text, images, actions, and custom key–value pairs, giving you control over how and where messages appear in-game, whether as a news ticker, a patch notes screen, or a dedicated message board. Broadcasts can also be hidden to the player, providing you with a great way to manage scheduled game configs.

Why Broadcasts?
Broadcasts are replacing our original Messages feature, but take things to an entirely new level. They include:
- Multi-region support with flexible publication schedules across timezones.
- Full localization, so players always see content in their preferred language.
- Custom data fields, letting you attach additional information to every broadcast.
- Cross-game delivery, making it possible to manage consistent messaging across multiple titles or even an entire publishing catalog.
For developers with several games, or publishers managing a portfolio, this means you can finally share consistent updates, news, and promotions across your full player base from one place.
Why Staying Connected Matters
It’s never been harder to cut through the noise and reach your players. Social media and Discord are valuable tools (and yes, LootLocker now supports Discord Auth!), but nothing compares to communicating with players directly inside the game they’re already playing.
That’s what makes Broadcasts so effective. They give you a reliable way to share everything from announcements and promotions to changelogs, downtime notices, or store updates without competing for attention on external platforms. With Broadcasts, your players get the right message at the right time, where it matters most.
Why Broadcasts Stand Out
At LootLocker, we design tools for the entire publishing team: sales, marketing, community, and support; not just engineers. And Broadcasts are no different. They’re easy to configure and manage, with minimal engineering effort beyond the initial integration.
Here’s how it works:
Give your broadcast a name and choose which games it should appear in.

Set publication schedules by timezone to ensure news breaks at the right time in every region.

Add your content in English and any number of additional languages (we support them all). Each language can include a headline, body, image, URL, action, and custom key–value fields for advanced control.

That’s it. Once published, your broadcast is live across one or more of your games.
Broadcasts Already in Action
Broadcasts are already live in several games you may have come across. We’ve been working with indie publisher Astra Logical to power announcements across their strategy and systems titles, whether in Early Access or featured during Steam Next Fest.

With Broadcasts, they’ve been able to cross-promote games in their portfolio and ensure their players never miss important news or events.
Start Broadcasting
Broadcasts are built to help you strengthen your relationship with players whether you’re announcing a major update, highlighting another game in your catalog, or simply keeping your community informed.
They’re ready to implement today in Unity and Unreal games with full documentation available as well. And if you want help building a broadcast strategy tailored to your games, our team is here to support you, so reach out!
Your players are waiting. It’s time to start broadcasting.
